LIVERPOOL: Everton Football Club has announced plans to host three test events at their new stadium in Liverpool’s Vauxhall district, ahead of their much-anticipated move from Goodison Park later this year. The club revealed the test events on Thursday, with the aim of securing the necessary safety and operating licenses to ensure the venue is ready for full capacity.

The first event, scheduled for February 17, will be a friendly match featuring Everton’s Under-18 team. The event will be open to 10,000 spectators, allowing the club to test logistics, crowd management, and other key operational aspects of the new stadium. A second test event, featuring Everton’s U-21 team, is planned for late March or early April and will have a capacity of 25,000 attendees.

A third test event will take place later in the current season, though further details are yet to be announced.

These test events are essential for securing the necessary licenses and safety certificates, which will allow the stadium to operate at its full capacity of 52,888 spectators when it officially opens. The new stadium marks an exciting step forward for the club, which will continue to play its remaining home league matches of the season at Goodison Park, its home since 1892. The final match at Goodison Park will take place on May 18 against Southampton.

The new stadium is expected to offer enhanced facilities and a more modern experience for fans, providing a state-of-the-art environment to support the club’s long-term aspirations.
